I bought some knives and have some questions about them. Would this be the place to post pics, or should they go somewhere else. TIA Terri

Hi
 I guess I should have started there my apoligeez (lol).I have not found the sandbox but I will do that too. The knives I have are very beat-up so I guess I need to know if they are worth the effort to clean them up. My husband is very excited about them. They look like junk to me. But what would I know haha. First is a Kabar 1237 with a cougar (or something) on the end I have look with no luck finding 1 like it.   This one is marked U S M8. I have found others simular, but with different handles   What would be the best way to clean these up, And the best way to try to bring the leather sheaths back to life. We have a few more and these 2 are in the best condition. TIA Terri |

Looks to me like the pommel(butt end) of the Kabar was replaced with the cougar head or the pommel was carved down to look like a cougar head.

Thanks, I am pretty sure it is not carved but could have been put there. Shame I was hoping it was something special.
